Ukraine strikes St. Petersburg fuel terminal and Tambov military factory
Ukraine launched overnight drone strikes on Wednesday targeting a military factory in Tambov Oblast, a fuel terminal in St. Petersburg, and the Kronstadt naval base. Some drones were also reportedly directed at Moscow.
PoliitikaUkraine carried out a series of overnight drone attacks on Russian territory on Wednesday, hitting several high-value targets including a military factory in Tambov Oblast, a petroleum terminal in St. Petersburg, and the Kronstadt naval base near the city.
The Tambov Oblast strike targeted a strategically significant defense manufacturing facility, continuing Ukraine's campaign to degrade Russia's military-industrial capacity deep inside Russian territory. Tambov is located roughly 480 kilometres southeast of Moscow.
In the St. Petersburg area, drones struck a fuel terminal, while the Kronstadt naval base — a historically important Russian Baltic Fleet installation on an island in the Gulf of Finland — was also reportedly hit. Additionally, Ukrainian drones were said to have been directed toward Moscow, though details on their impact in the capital region remain limited.
