Sadu member Frederik Küüts: Over 50 concerts in summer requires great personal sacrifices

Estonian band Sadu member Frederik Küüts told the ERR show "R2 Hommik!" that a busy concert schedule over the summer requires musicians to make significant personal sacrifices. Küüts emphasized that an artist must take care of themselves, as the audience's joy comes directly from the artist's own energy.

Estonian band Sadu is in extremely high gear this summer – the ensemble has over 50 concerts scheduled, which means the musicians are practically on constant tour. Band member Frederik Küüts admitted on ERR's show "R2 Hommik!" that maintaining such a pace is not easy.

"An artist really does need to take care of themselves; if the artist is in a good place, the audience sees that too and they're in a good place as well," explained Küüts on his approach to life. According to him, it is important for an artist to look after their own wellbeing, because the energy and joy visible on stage are directly connected to how the musician actually feels.

Over 50 concerts in a single summer means that Sadu members have minimal time for their personal lives and rest. Küüts acknowledges that this lifestyle requires serious choices and giving up much of what ordinary people take for granted. Yet it appears that the band members have consciously accepted these sacrifices.

In recent years, Sadu has strengthened its position on Estonia's music scene, and their concerts attract increasingly larger audiences. The busy summer schedule is a sign that the band is in high demand and eager to meet their fans throughout Estonia.
