Sadu band member Frederik Küüts: tight concert schedule demands major sacrifices
Band Sadu member Frederik Küüts discussed on R2's morning programme how he writes song lyrics in coordination with Sandra Sillamaa and Sofia-Liis Liis. The band has over 50 concerts scheduled from May through the end of August, and Küüts acknowledges that such a lifestyle demands considerable sacrifices.
KultuurEstonian band Sadu member Frederik Küüts appeared on R2's morning programme, where he explained how the band's creative process actually works. According to Küüts, he does not write song lyrics alone — all lyrics are coordinated with Sandra Sillamaa and Sofia-Liis Liis so that the songs reflect their inner worlds as well.
Küüts stressed that with this approach, he wants to ensure that each band member feels a genuine connection to the creative work. "I always try to make sure the song is in harmony with their inner world too," he explained on the show.
The summer holds a busy concert schedule for Sadu: from May through the end of August, over 50 performances are planned. Küüts acknowledged that this demands an enormous amount from the artists — both physically and in their personal lives. "You have to sacrifice a lot to live this kind of life," he said plainly.
