Russia launches massive missile attack on Ukraine: 17 killed and nearly 100 wounded
Russian military launched a massive missile and drone strike against Ukraine in the early morning hours of 2 June. Six people were killed in Kyiv and eleven people, including two children, lost their lives in Dnipro. Ukrainian President Zelensky reported that a total of 73 missiles and 656 drones were fired during the night.

Kyiv and Dnipro hit hardest
Six people were killed in the attack in Kyiv with over 60 wounded. Multi-storey apartment buildings sustained serious damage. The situation in Dnipro was even more devastating – eleven people, including two children, lost their lives there, and 37 were wounded. A four-storey apartment building in the city was partially destroyed.
Zelensky: 73 missiles and 656 drones
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia used a total of 73 missiles and 656 drones during the night strike. In addition to Kyiv and Dnipro, strikes also hit cities in the Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv and Khmelnytsky regions.
One of the largest attacks of the war
This was one of the largest single-night attacks Russia has carried out against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. The strike occurred at a time when the international community continues negotiations over arms aid and possible peace efforts.
