Paide post office relocation causes confusion: will the service be hidden in the outskirts?
A Paide resident has complained that finding the post office after its recent move to a new location proved difficult. Omniva confirmed that the closure of Paide post office is not planned, and it will continue to promote awareness of the new location.
EestiA resident of Paide has turned to the media with concerns that the post office's new location is poorly marked and difficult to find. She believes that placing the service on the edge of town could reduce customer visits and later provide a reason to close the office altogether.
"The post office in Paide is now hidden in a back corner of the outskirts. Soon they can say that people don't come and it can be closed," said the concerned citizen. She suspects that the gradual sidelining of services could be a strategic move to shut them down later.
An Omniva representative responded to the criticism reassuringly, confirming that the company takes customer feedback into account and is actively working to better promote the post office's new location and alternative service options. "Paide post office is a county post office, and there are no plans to close it," emphasised the Omniva representative.
In recent years, Omniva has relocated post offices to new locations in several places across Estonia, which are not always as conveniently accessible as the previous locations. This has created uncertainty among residents and raised questions about the future of services, particularly in smaller towns and rural areas.
