Riigikogu member Zuleikha Izmailova from Estonia's Social Democratic Party has launched sharp criticism against the Reform Party, publishing a column with a telling title: according to her, the once-liberal force has become the "junior partner" of the "Fatherland" party.

The Reform Party has positioned itself for many years as a defender of liberal values, personal freedom, and a progressive course. However, according to Izmailova, today there are good reasons to question whether this identity has been preserved.

In the deputy's view, voters are entitled to ask themselves: does the current course of the party correspond to the expectations they associated with the Reform Party in the elections. Izmailova believes that the party has drifted away from its foundational principles and lost its independent political voice.

Such criticism of the ruling coalition comes against the backdrop of ongoing discussions about Estonia's political direction. The Social Democrats, being in opposition, are increasingly pointing to the Reform Party's rightward shift and the weakening of its liberal agenda.
