French Ambassador Presents High Academic Order to Timo Kikas and Marge Käsper
French Ambassador Emmanuel Mignot has honoured two Estonian scholars with the Knight's class of the Ordre des Palmes académiques. The recognition was given to Eesti Maaülikool professor Timo Kikas and Tartu Ülikool lecturer Marge Käsper.
KultuurFrench Ambassador Emmanuel Mignot presented the Knight's class of the Ordre des Palmes académiques to two Estonian academics on Monday. The honour was bestowed on Timo Kikas, tenured professor of bioeconomy technologies at Eesti Maaülikool, and Marge Käsper, lecturer in French language and linguistics at Tartu Ülikool.
The Ordre des Palmes académiques is one of France's oldest state decorations, awarded for significant contributions to the advancement of education and culture. It is the French Republic's highest honour in the field of education, available to both French and foreign nationals.
Timo Kikas works at Eesti Maaülikool in the field of bioeconomy technologies, while Marge Käsper has dedicated her academic career to teaching French language and linguistics at Tartu Ülikool, helping to promote French culture and language in Estonia.
