Estonian clairvoyant Merily Timmer: 'When I saw him, I knew I wanted to die hand in hand with him'
Estonian clairvoyant Merily Alesmaa, known to most as Merily Timmer, has gone through major life changes over the past two years — falling in love, getting engaged, marrying, and becoming a mother. In a new interview, she opens up about how she met her future husband in her reception room and why she decided to give up her well-known surname.
KultuurEstonian clairvoyant Merily Alesmaa — still widely known by her former name Merily Timmer — has had a remarkably eventful two years, experiencing more life-changing milestones than many people do in a decade.
Speaking on ÕL TV's morning show Hommikusöök Staariga, Alesmaa revealed that the fateful meeting with her future husband took place in her very own reception room. «When I saw him, I knew right away that I wanted to die hand in hand with him,» she said, describing what she calls a genuine case of love at first sight.
Over the course of just two years, she fell in love, got engaged, married, and welcomed a child — a whirlwind journey she says has brought her to exactly where she wants to be. She also addressed one of the more personal decisions she made along the way: leaving behind the surname Timmer, which had become closely associated with her public persona.
Alesmaa explained that taking her husband's name felt like the natural next step after finding the man she intends to spend the rest of her life with. While many of her followers and fans still refer to her as Merily Timmer, she says the new name reflects who she has become.
The interview touched on broader questions about fate, intuition, and whether love at first sight is truly possible — topics that sit close to the heart of someone who has built a career around reading people and situations. For Alesmaa, the answer is a resounding yes.
