Estonian alpinist Tanel Tuuleveski: Mount Everest summit was far from pleasant
Estonian mountaineer Tanel Tuuleveski reflected on his Mount Everest climb in a TV appearance, describing the summit as bitterly cold and windy. He admitted he has no plans to conquer more peaks himself, but would join his daughters if they ever wanted to attempt the climb.
SportEstonian alpinist Tanel Tuuleveski appeared on the popular TV show "Ringvaade" to share his memories of reaching the summit of Mount Everest — and his account was refreshingly candid. Despite achieving one of mountaineering's greatest milestones, Tuuleveski said the experience at the top was far from enjoyable.
«It wasn't very pleasant to be at the summit,» Tuuleveski admitted, citing the extreme cold and fierce winds that greeted him at the top of the world's highest peak. The conditions made lingering at the summit anything but a triumphant celebration.
When asked about future plans, Tuuleveski said he has no intention of chasing more mountain summits on his own. However, he left the door open for one exception — if any of his daughters were to express a desire to make the climb, he would not hesitate to accompany them.
