Champions League Finals Will Remain Paid on TNT Sports
TNT Sports rejected calls to make the finals of the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League publicly accessible. Despite pressure from the public and authorities, broadcasts will remain exclusively for subscribers.
SportTNT Sports made a final decision not to provide free access to watch the finals of three major club tournaments under the UEFA umbrella — the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. This decision has caused widespread discontent among fans and representatives of political circles.
The question of free broadcasts of the finals has been on the agenda for a long time: critics point out that such matches are events of national significance and should be accessible to a wide audience without a paid subscription. However, TNT Sports, which holds exclusive rights to broadcast the tournaments, insists on maintaining the current content distribution model.
Pressure on the broadcaster was exerted from several quarters, nevertheless the company remained firm. The finals of three European tournaments will remain available only to subscribers of the paid channel, which deprives millions of fans of the opportunity to watch the deciding matches of the season for free.
