AstraZeneca and Estonian Health Museum Launch Nicotine Prevention Campaign in Estonia
The Estonian Health Museum and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca are launching a nationwide educational initiative starting in June to protect young people from nicotine products, including e-cigarettes. The project aims to reach more than 55,000 students by 2026.
EestiThe Estonian Health Museum and international pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca are joining forces to launch a nationwide prevention project that will alert young people to the dangers of nicotine products. The project begins in June and focuses on both e-cigarettes and other nicotine products that have become increasingly popular among young people.
The main goal of the project is to deliver science-based, age-appropriate health information to school students that will help them make more informed choices. The campaign is designed to be far-reaching — by 2026, it aims to reach more than 55,000 students across all of Estonia.
The popularity of nicotine products, particularly e-cigarettes, among young people has grown significantly in recent years. Experts have repeatedly warned that many young people are unaware of the actual health risks of these products. Through educational prevention efforts, the hope is to halt this trend and provide young people with the tools to critically assess the impact of nicotine on their own health.
The Estonian Health Museum has previously conducted several successful health promotion programmes, and AstraZeneca's experience in public health provides the project with a strong scientific foundation. The collaboration brings together both the museum's educational expertise and the pharmaceutical company's knowledge in health and prevention.
