Estonian swimmer Randväli sets national record at London Olympic pool

16-year-old Maari Randväli set a new Estonian record in 50m backstroke at the AP Race International competition in London. Eneli Jefimova finished third in 200m breaststroke, while Ralf Tribuntsov and Daniel Zaitsev posted season-best times.

The opening day of the AP Race International swimming meet at the London Olympic aquatics centre delivered outstanding results for Estonian swimmers, headlined by a new national record.

16-year-old Maari Randväli claimed the spotlight by breaking the Estonian record in the 50-metre backstroke. The teenage swimmer's performance at the iconic London Olympic venue marks a significant milestone in her young career.

Eneli Jefimova, one of Estonia's most prominent swimming talents, competed in a non-primary event and still managed to secure third place in the 200-metre breaststroke, demonstrating her versatility across disciplines.

The strong Estonian showing continued with Ralf Tribuntsov and Daniel Zaitsev both recording personal season-best times at the London competition, adding further depth to Estonia's impressive collective performance on the opening day of the meet.
